About
Col. Roger Harvey (U.S. Army, Retired) teaches CCW courses for Orange County and Los Angeles County from a Garden Grove facility equipped with a $30,000 LaserShot SimRange simulator. Harvey holds POST (Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training) certification—the same credential required of California law enforcement firearms instructors—and serves as an NRA Training Counselor authorized to certify other instructors. He earned the Legion of Merit for distinguished service as Deputy Chief of Staff overseeing more than 10,000 soldiers and holds an MA in Kinesiology with emphasis on motor learning, the science of physical skill development. Harvey has coached Team USA at the CIOR Military World Championships multiple times, producing podium finishes including at the 2022 Athens and 2023 Helsinki games. The SimRange simulator features hundreds of professionally-acted CCW and law enforcement scenarios used during classroom training. Harvey also earned gold in centerfire pistol and silver in rimfire pistol at the 2024 Huntsman Senior World Games. Classes include NRA Personal Protection courses, home defense training, and private instruction for individuals, couples, families, and groups. Initial CCW courses run 16 hours starting at $400 per student; renewal courses run 8 hours starting at $180. Simulator-only training is available from $50 per hour.
