Lock-n-Load Concealed Carry Training operates from El Dorado Hills under Dr. David Lungren, a California Department of Justice certified instructor approved to teach CCW courses across El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties. Dr. Lungren holds additional certifications from Utah BCI for multi-state concealed weapons permits, NRA Pistol and Personal Protection instruction, and serves as a Range Safety Officer. His six years of military service complements a medical background as a retired chiropractor who previously directed a Whiplash and Spinal Trauma Center and worked as a Certified Medical Examiner and Expert Medical Witness. The training facility offers California CCW courses at $275 for the 16-hour initial certification and $195 for 8-hour renewals, with an additional $15 fee for range qualifications when adding firearms to existing permits. Students can book county-specific courses tailored to El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, or Yolo requirements directly through the website. Beyond California permits, Lock-n-Load provides Utah 32-36 hour multi-state CCW training that includes Nevada recognition. The curriculum extends to progressive defensive handgun courses spanning basic, intermediate, and advanced levels. Dr. Lungren applies teaching methods refined through years of explaining complex medical concepts to patients, providing personalized one-on-one firearms instruction. Classes cover safe handling and carry techniques, shoot-don't-shoot scenario training, lawful use of force for self-defense, confrontation avoidance strategies, post-shooting procedures, and defensive tactics for situations including home invasions, carjackings, and active shooter scenarios.
