Distinguished Firearms Instruction

Firearms Academy of Redding has provided firearms training, self defense and CCW instruction to Shasta County and Northern California for over 30 years. Owner and instructor Joel Northrup is POST certified and approved by the Shasta County Sheriff's Office as a CCW instructor. The Academy offers initial and renewal CCW classes that meet the new DOJ training standards, as well as advanced defensive pistol training and non-resident CCW training for Florida and Arizona permits.

Down Range Indoor Training Center is Northern California's only 5-star NSSF-rated range, offering both initial 16-hour and renewal 8-hour CCW permit courses, advanced pistol training, and specialized courses for women and youth. Their facility features the area's only 25-yard indoor pistol, rifle, and shotgun range, a full-line firearms retail area, on-site gunsmith, and the area's only full-service uniform shop — all in a welcoming, customer-service-focused environment.

Michigan Firearm and CPL Training LLC operates nationally, teaching California CCW and Michigan CPL classes with a focus on safety and defensive skills. The company specializes in training beginners and boasts that 100% of students give five-star ratings. They offer both initial and renewal courses, as well as ongoing weekly defensive pistol training sessions.
