Firearms Academy of Redding has provided firearms training, self defense and CCW instruction to Shasta County and Northern California for over 30 years. Owner and instructor Joel Northrup is POST certified and approved by the Shasta County Sheriff's Office as a CCW instructor. The Academy offers initial and renewal CCW classes that meet the new DOJ training standards, as well as advanced defensive pistol training and non-resident CCW training for Florida and Arizona permits.

State of Jefferson Firearms Training serves North State California residents with comprehensive CCW training programs. They offer both 16-hour initial CCW classes completed over two days and 8-hour renewal classes typically completed in one day. The training combines classroom instruction on firearms laws and deadly force with range qualification time, and they are certified to teach in multiple counties including Tehama, Shasta, Glenn, Trinity, Lassen, and Siskiyou counties.

Crossed Star Firearms is a Northern California firearms instructor offering CCW classes and training for all levels of shooters. They provide 16-hour initial CCW courses, 8-hour renewals, multi-state CCW training, and various pistol instruction classes. Classes are approved for residents of multiple Northern California counties including Butte, Contra Costa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Benito, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Yuba, and Yolo counties.
